In Utah on July 24th, each year we celebrate what is known as "The
Days of 47". We have a "Days of 47 parade", "Days of 47 royalty", a
"Days of 47 Rodeo", and of course fireworks. When I say fireworks, I
mean serious fireworks. In fact, the "Days of 47" celebration in Utah is
bigger than the 4th of July. I just wanted to let every know so they can
prepare to celebrate with us in Utah on the "Days of 47" (the 24th of
July).

In case any of you are puzzled by this fact, here are the details:

In 1847, the Mormon pioneers came into the Salt Lake Valley and Brigham
Young declared "This is the Place". The Mormons settled what is now
known as Salt Lake City and a celebration of that event is now held each
year on the 24th of July. It has come to be known as the Days of 47.
There is a huge party every year all through Salt Lake City and other
cities in Utah. Usually downtown Salt Lake City has banners up and
down all the streets advertising the "Days of 47 Rodeo", parade, and
party. This will all take place this Wednesday night.
