Subject: random 47s
Just noticed I have 147 messages in my MAIN mailbox. Glanced at the
clock, and of course, it's 1:47.

In the movie "Absolute Power", old man Sullivan mentions that he was
married to his first wife for 47 years before she died.

Subject: more testimony for 47
My friends and I have for about 2 or 3 years now been convinced that 47 is
the meaning of life. We have noticed that 47 comes up so incredibly often
it is sickening. At first i thought it was just us being stupid and
singling out a single number to look for, but soon, we knew, it had to be
true; 47 was the "random" number that appears most in the universe.
I really had no idea, there were others who shared our views, until I
stumbled across your site. I must say, I am not surprised. We have
noticed the number in almost every movie we see, all the time on the news,
and of course, in Star Trek.
Sincerely,

Subject: bubble boy 47
>From the Seinfeld "Bubble Boy" episode:
Susan: "You're gonna love this cabin. My granfather built it in 1947."
George: " Well, there you go. It's a 47 cabin."

Subject: infection 47
Since I told my brother all about the 47 saga he's
been seeing them all the time (over in England).
Seems like you can verbally "infect" someone.

Subject: book of 47s
More 47s from assorted places, mostly from the illustrious bookstore...
There are 47 matches for the keyword "Hungarian" in our store...the
customer was looking for the last one, obviously #47.
Our little metal shelf supports come in a box that says "Stock #47" on the
side in big blue letters. There were two boxes of them on the shelf where
our time cards are the other day.
I found a book the other day that had a "defective" tag on it, which read
"Blank pages after #47 and others." (It was a misprinted book, and sure
enough everything after page 47 was messed up).
A customer told me the other day that he'd forgotten the name of the book
he was looking for because "the memory starts to go around age 47, I think."
I keep running across monographs in the technical sections downstairs that
are #47 or #147 or #347 in a series. I also ran across about five copies
of a book called "West 47th Street" while rearranging our mystery section
the other day. (In all, there are 22 matches for "47" in the titles of
books at the store.)
Comedy Central has been running a commercial campaign that talks about 100
reasons you should watch CC this summer. Of course in the one I saw
tonight they were talking about reason #47, the Daily Show.
Until later,
